A fantastic new Dracaena. Tornado has a twisted shape with gorgeous dark green leaves and lovely wide lime-coloured edges. Dracaena Tornado is an ideal plant for both modern and classic interiors. If you are looking for a Dracaena with a difference, then this is the plant for you!
Comes with built in air filtering qualities as standard.
Can't handle the heat! These plants look like they like direct light, however too much sun will cause leaf streaking and eventually burning. Remove damage and remedy with some shade.
Tame the tipping! Blackening of leaf tips and leaf edges is a sign that the plant has had too much water. Allow to dry-out in-between waterings.
Bad hair day! This plant likes being watered from the base. Watering from above will cause water to get trapped in the crown, eventually rotting the centre leaves.
Dracaena Tornado is a versatile plant, coping with light shade through to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight however as this may burn or bleach the leaves.
Water when the soil starts to dry-out at the top. Water well and allow to drain thoroughly. Relatively drought tolerant. Do not overwater as this will cause the leaf tips to blacken.
Dracaena fragrans Tornado prefers average household temperatures between 16-24°C but can cope with as low as 12°C for short periods.
Dracaena are hardy houseplants and will do well in normal room humidity, however they do prefer higher humidity and will benefit from occasional misting.
Apply a weak dose of a fertiliser once or twice a month during the growing season.
The Dracaena Tornado is a slow-growing plant which typically reaches an ultimate height of around 1 to 2 metres.
Please note: each plant is unique so available heights are approximate and the plant you receive may vary by ±10%
The sap of the Dracaena fragrans is toxic to animals. It is not considered poisonous to humans but should not be ingested.
This plant filters airborne toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde and is part of our clean air plant collection.
Like most Dracaena, the fragrans 'Tornado' variety originates from tropical Africa.
