Such foliage: huge, glossy dark green tropical leaves shaped a little like elephant ears. A compact, low maintenance choice for homes and offices, that will help purify your air.
Please note our care tips below as these plants are prone to transit shock resulting in yellow patches forming on the foliage.
Stop the spotting! It is normal for this plant to develop yellow spots on its leaves when it acclimatises to its new location, however if full leaf yellowing occurs, it’s a watering issue.
Finished with the fading? This plant likes lots of bright indirect sunlight to grow and maintain its colouring. If you notice its leaves starting to dull, move to a brighter location.
Occasional wiping of leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust will keep your plant looking fresh and feeling fine.
This Philodendron is happy in a shaded area but best in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves.
Keep the soil of your Imperial Green moist but allow the top of the soil to dry-out slightly before re-watering. This plant is drought tolerant.
Prefers average to warm household temperatures from 18-28°C and can handle as low as 12°C for short periods. Avoid cold draughts.
The Imperial Green will do fine in normal home humidity, but thrives in more humid environments. Consider misting occasionally for best results.
Apply a weak solution of liquid fertiliser two or three times during the growing season.
A moderate to fast-growing plant, the Imperial Green typically reaches an ultimate height of around 90 to 120cm indoors.
Please note: each plant is unique so available heights are approximate and the plant you receive may vary by ±10%
