Cosmo is a lovely variety of Aloe with rich green, fleshy, speckled leaves growing in a dense rosette. Full of healing and air purifying properties, Aloe aristata Cosmo always looks right at home on a shelf or small table.
Please note: Leaves feature razor-sharp tips prone to drying and snapping. Handle with care. Tipless leaves are not uncommon.
Drain away baby! The Aloe Aristata Cosmo needs well-draining soil as it will not be happy sitting in excess water which can lead to lower leaf rot
Beyond the pale! If you notice the Cosmo's leaves have begun to grow pale or flop, the most likely cause is lack of light. Find a sunnier spot for your plant.
Plump it up! If the Cosmo's leaves look dry and thin, it's time for a drink. A healthy Aloe will look full and plump!
Aloe aristata Cosmo generally needs bright, indirect sunlight, but can tolerate a few hours of direct light from time-to-time. Low light may cause the Aloe's leaves to pale.
Does best in dry conditions. Before watering, allow the soil to dry-out to at least 5cm deep. Less water is required in winter. Aloe will not tolerate standing in water so ensure the water can drain freely.
Will do fine in average household temperatures. Do not allow the Aloe's temperature to fall below 10°C.
Avoid a humid atmosphere. The Aloe aristata Cosmo prefers to be kept away from typically steamy areas like the bathroom and kitchen.
Aloe should not require additional feeding, but if your plant looks like it could do with a boost, apply a phosphorus-heavy, water-based fertiliser at half-strength during the spring.
This Aloe is capable of growing to 1 metre tall, however it is quite slow growing.
Please note: each plant is unique so available heights are approximate and the plant you receive may vary by ±10%
Aloe aristata leaves can cause harm if eaten. Keep away from children and animals. Do not consume.
